some values in the chart plotting as zero when they are not! please help!!!

My problem is that i have a data set that i want to chart. The data set contains population numbers both real & estimated for a series of years. The real data is from census & is for 3 census periods 5 years apart, the projected data is for a 20 year period starting from the year after the last census date. Whenever I plot the data the actual numbers derived from the census plot as zero while all the projected data plots as expected. I really can't work out why as the data is correct in the worksheet. ANY suggestions welcome

couple suggestions-
verify that the graph is actually plotting the actual data and not a blank area

it the actual data is rounded the same as the projected data (i.e. is one rounded to thousands and one rounded to millions?)

verify the the actual data is formatted as numeric/values and not text. (if it is text, you'll have to format the area as numeric and re-enter the data

If it is formatted as text, you could...

Use Aladin's force procedure in a separate column
=a2+0
to convert to numeric format,

or put a numeric 1 somewhere on the sheet, copy it, select the range with the numbers-as-text, and go Edit|Paste Special|Multiply to convert them to numerics in place rather than reentering the whole thing.
