Changing range of data labels in chart

Posted by Jon on March 20, 2001 8:43 PM
Anyone know how to change the range for data labels in an Excel chart? I would like to label my points with something besides the value being plotted.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Try-

right click on chart to get context menu
select 'Source Data...'
click on the 'Series' tab
at the bottom of the 'Series' tab there will be an range selection box labeled 'Category (X) axis labels' where you can select the range

Tried that - in my Seried tab there is no option to define a range for labels...I thought it would have been there, but its not.

Series tab does not have box to specify label range.
