Formatting a chart

I have created a chart in Excel. I drew a 'line' on the chart using the drawing tool bar. It looks fine on my screen, but when I view it under the print preview option the line is not where I placed it. Why does this happen?? How do I fix it so that I can place it in the correct spot and have it print in the correct spot??
