mysterious chart

Last week i was creating a chart for someone so we tried out a few options. The source data do contain 2 columns with the labels for the X-axis and 1 column of data. The columns have no titles so in my legend stood "series 1".
The chart type is a simple column chart.
Suddenly in the legend appeared the labels of my X-axis. This was just what my client wanted... But i didn't manage to create a second chart like that (because normally in my legend stands "series 1")
I copied the formatting of the first chart to the other charts and so i got this strange legend in every chart but i still don't understand how it came there the first timme... Does somebody have an explanation for this strange chart???

Kristel, you can toggle between these 2 displays
by changing the specified orientation of your data
series from rows to columns and back again. Just
right click on your chart, choose "Source Data"
from the popup menu, and change the "Series in"
radio button selection ("Rows" or "Columns"). Try
it!

Mark, what you say is,of course, correct but doesn't solve my problem because this is just the weird thing, my "labels" appear as labels beneath the X-axis AND AT THE SAME TIME they appear in the legend !!!
