gantt charts

does anyone know how to crate a gantt chart to track a timeline, while skipping weekends and holidays. I have tried using Microsoft Project, but find it unweildy.

Haven't tried it but what about the networkdays function and conditional formating to make cells change colour. Or something like entering a start and finsh date for each task and a formula in the gantt chart rows for that task looking to see if dates in row 1 are within the start/finish range and if so conditional formatting changes the cell colour
