charting Y data

Simple question-if I want to show values on the Y axis, where do I "activate" that option? I want to show two different charts on top of each other-one bar chart and one line with info for the bar on the left (X) axis and line on the Y

I assume you mean Column rather than Bar chart...
Use the "Line - Column on 2 Axes" Custom Chart
Type.
