I have Excel version# 97 SR-2, I have 32 graphs in one file and its eating my memory. Is there anything in Excel or on my desktop I can change. I have 128 mgs of memory already - which should be more than plenty. I am thinking its an excel setup

I understand that Excel can cope with around 145 charts in one workbook, but this is dependant upon the number of fonts used in the charts.

Its a real pain and I usually have problems with this. One thing that I find helps is to go to the font properties for all of the charts (eg. x axis and y axis and any labels etc that you have) within the font properties you should see an autoscale checkbox. Make sure this is turned off on all your charts and this should solve your problem.

It always seems to work for me.

So, the less fonts used, the more graphs I can have?

Just by turning off the autoscale will solve my problem?

Yes, thats the general principle.

Check out this link, its microsoft's explanation of the problem:
