Autofilter based on to cells

Does any1 know how i can filter a set of data depending on 2 data ranges -

1st being the start date and the second being the finish date

You can autofilter your data and specify a custom filter that is greater than (or equal to) the 1st date and less than (or equal to) the 2nd date. To autofilter select your data and then, from the menu bar, select Data|Filter|AutoFilter.
