parsing cell data

Posted by tom lawler on July 26, 2001 12:34 PM
I have an excel database with column a containing names in the last name, first name format. Can they be split into last name and first name so they would be in separate columns?

Thanks in advance

If necessary insert a new (empty) column B. Choose
the Data | Text to Columns... menu command. Press
[ Next> ] at Step 1 of 3. Check the "Comma"
delimiter check box at Step 2 of 3, and press
[ Finish ].
