calander

Posted by Mark on November 05, 2001 1:38 PM
I need to create a calander to track an On Call or
Standby list for about 7 to 10 people. I.E. a column
of dates on the left and a column of names on the
right.

Tue 1-1-02 Russ
Wed 1-2-02 Larry
Thur 1-3-02 Frank
Fri 1-4-02 Irv
Sat 1-5-02 Rich
Sun 1-6-02 Joe
Mon 1-7-02 Mark

Anyone have suggestions on how I could do this.

Thanks,

Mark

Just enter a date in one column & use the fill handle to drag down as far as you'd like (the little square in the bottom right hand corner of the cell when it's selected.)

I guess what I really want to know, is there a
way excel can create the the day and date columns
automatically(maybe some macro)? Or do I have to
enter each cell(one for the day and one for the
date)manually? I'm lazy. I don't want to make all
those entries one at a time.

Thanks

Mark

You have not understood Bob Umlas' suggestion.
Do this :-

1. Custom format A1 as : dddd
2. Enter in A1 : 1-1-02
3. Use the fill handle to drag down A1 as far as you like
4. Custom format B1 as : m-d-yy
5. Enter in B1 : 1-1-02
6. Use the fill handle to drag down B1 as far as you like
