"Workbook contains links to other workbooks..."

Posted by greg on April 02, 2001 11:35 AM
Is there a way to get rid of the linked workbooks message
when I send the workbook to another computer? I am
extracting a few charts from one workbook into their own
so that they are easier to email to other people.
Thanks,
Greg

Greg:

couple of other options:

when you're copying the chart from one workbook to another, select the chart, hold down shift key, and on the menu bar click Edit>Copy Picture, then paste the chart into the new workbook as a picture

another option if you don't have a lot of charts and there are not a lot of series in the chart, is when you copy the chart to the other workbook, click on one of the chart series. A 'SERIES()' formula should appear in the formula bar, hit the F2 key and then the F9 key to 'break the links' and convert the cell references to strings.
