When you do a regular copy and paste it should paste the formula. If that doesn't work, copy the cell and select Edit > Paste Special, choose formulas, and press OK.

If the references in the formula you're copying are absolute (Ex. $F$4), the cell you copy the formula to *will* display the same contents are your source cell.

I am trying to copy a formula. Instead of copying the formula it is copying the contents of the cell. I know I am doing this correctly. The funny thing is when I save the worksheet the formula takes effect and it is correct. I am completely stumped. I have asked several people and noone is able to help. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your reply. After alot of messing around I found the problem. Tools, options, Calculation-it was on manual instead of automatic and there was a box that said recalculate after save that was checked. You'd probablly have a better understanding if you went to the options yourself. Thanks again!
