Catastrophic Failure
Posted by Brian on January 23, 2001 7:23 AM
I am working with Excel 97, on a WinNT machine and when I am trying to save an excel file with some heavy macros in it, I am getting a very disturbing error. Here is the text: "System Error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113). Catastrophic Failure"
I can still save when this error occurs, but only if i sit here and press enter to get through the messages for about 3-4 min. This error only happens when i save.
Anyone run into this before? Or ideas on how to fix it?
I might be able to post a screen print if needed.
Thanks

My guess is your running out of memory, how much do you have installed? Recommended amount is at minimum 64, 128 is better 256 best.

I got the same thing, saving a userform to a spreadsheet with a huge macro. I'm running win2000, office 97 and I have a 600 celeron with 256 mb ram...
I can't find anything anywhere on this error...
