conditional format question
Posted by Kevin on December 14, 2001 12:05 PM
How does one do a conditional format of a particular cell, conditional on the contents of another cell? I can only seem to conditionally format a cell based on the contents of the cell I am trying to format. Is there any way to base the condition on the contents of a different cell?
Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,
Change the condition box to from "Cell Value" is to "Formula is" and type in a formula that has a result of true or false. If you provide some specifics, someone can help with formula. One caveat is to watch how excel tends to absolute cell references and doesn't like you to use the arrows to navigate while entering a formula is the box.
