3 Dimensional Cell Shading

Posted by Ian Bartlett on August 03, 2001 12:43 AM

I’d like to give selected cells a 3-dimensional appearance. I ‘m looking for an effect similar to that in Powerpoint, whereby selecting an object (eg. a rectangle) and using "Format/Colours & Lines/Fill Effects, Gradient" results in shading that gives the illusion of the object being a cylinder.

Apart from pasting drawing objects into Excel cells, is there any way to create this cell format in Excel?

Many thanks,

Ian

Beyond adding a pattern (which isn't very 3D), this can't be done. maybe XL2002 is capable, but 2000 or below...

Thanks, Cory,

That's what I was afraid of, but I've seen so many solutions on this message board to other unlikely problems that I thought it was worth a try.

Thanks anyway,

Ian
