Adjusting the Cell Height Automatically

Posted by Lael Buchanan on December 10, 1999 9:04 AM
Hello,

I've looked in the help files for Excel and I can't seem to find anything that will let me do this, perhaps you can help.

I've got a spreadsheet that I'm going to have lists of items. Each item will need a space for a description, but the description will be of variable lenght. I had thought that if I set the cells to Word Wrap, that it would also automatically adjust the Cell Height to accomodate the extra lines, but it doesn't seem to be doing it. I'm currently using Excel 2000. Is there some additional setting I need to set to get it to audtomatically adjust the Cell Height?

Thanks for your time,

Lael Buchanan

Hi Lael,

After you wrap text and want to adjust the Column Height,
select your column, then go to "Format", "Column", "Auto Fit".
This should do the trick.

Good luck!

Denise
