Trouble formatting a cell

Posted by Horacio on December 10, 2001 9:43 AM
Hello everyone,
I'm having trouble formatting a cell... when I input A1-11-1318 or above, the format goes to date no matter what I do. I try to format it as text or general and it goes back to date. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?
P.S. If I input A1-11-1317 or lower, I have no problem, but anything above that, goes to date format.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what the problem is, try starting with an equals sign.

Thanks for the response Tom,
I don't need any formulas... I just need to type "A1-11-1324" in the cell, but it formats it as date.

How come ? That's not a *valid* date. (NT)
