How can I drag this way ?

In column A I have the numbers 1 thru 10 listed vertically in rows 3 thru 11. In column C I want to have the numbers in A3:A11 to appear every three rows.
Ex:
C3= A3
C6= A4
C9= A5
and so on...
Without using an array how can I do this?

I think that the following works:
=IF(ROW()/3=INT(ROW()/3),OFFSET($A$3,ROW()/3-1,0,1,1),"")
