Formatting a cell

In an EXCEL spreadsheet I have a column of about 3000 cells with two characters of text in each cell (Example:TS). I want to add three blank spaces to the end of the two characters by way of formatting the cells and not with a macro or formula. Is this possible?

If you don't want to use a simple formula and copy and paste special, you could download asap-utilites.com. The addin has a function that will handle this task for you.

Or

You could write

=cell reference & "(3 spaces)"

Then copy and paste the results as values

Glynn, apply a custom number format to your cells
using "@bbb" (without the quotes and substituting
a space character for the "b" shown). Sorry for
convoluted description of this number format.
This web site "gobbles" up space characters. : )
