Excel - VLookup

I have sheet1 with info in it. In the second sheet, I wish to reference data from sheet 1. I use Vlookup which works well, however, snag is, when I have repeated data in sheet1 which I'm using as the lookup value in sheet two vlookup formula. Thus it stops at the first value in sheet1 and returns the same values each pass. I actually want to go onto the next accurrance of the value in sheet1 on the next pass. The return field values are different. I hope this makes sense.
