formatting?

Posted by Debbie on January 18, 2002 8:27 AM
I have columns that are labelled with the months of the year and row cells filled with numbers. I have been asked to change all the numbers to represent a daily number in that month i.e. all numbers in cells under the month of January need to be divided by 31. How can I do that quickly?

Hi Debbie,

if you type "31" into a spare cell and copy it, then highlight the range of numbers you want divided, right click inside it, select paste special, then divide

it should divide every number in your highlighted range by 31

(for info, you can multiply, add and subtract too if so desired)

is this what you had in mind ?
Chris
