Create File from Excel Data as a Fixed Length Text File

I am working with Excel 97 and can not find the option to save the data within excel as a fixed length text file. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I may not have understood you correctly -- but if you are trying to save an excel file as a text file, you go FILE|SaveAs|and then in Save as Type drop down box click on Text (...
