alternatives to the autofill handle?

is there some magic key combo that allows you to select the beginning and ending cells of a Fill selection, instead of clicking and dragging over long ranges? (similar to entering an array formula and cntl+shft+enter)

Try this

Hi--
New sheet, put 1 in A1, right click on the fill handle, and drag to whatever let go a box pops up.. select fill series and bingo.
use this all the time and there are other options, that will work in many situations fill handle fails... try it and try te others options.
doubt many know that one.. good luck

Good one Jack. Double click the fill handle if filling
a series that is defined by a column next to it.

Brilliant!!!

Those are great tips! I am using this to fill
a column with references to a row (i.e., I want
column A2:A12 to refer to A1:J1). Know a quick
trick for that one???

OL 2nd question try this, copy A1 to J1 and select A2 cell now paste special and click transpose bottom right is and press OK that should do it [NT]
