256 Max total columns

What I have to do to use more than 256 column in an Excel sheet?

You can't. The maximum number of columns in 256 and the maximum number of rows is 65536. The Microsoft Office spreadsheet control allows up to 676 columns but it's only a very simple version of Excel.

If you've got less than 256 columns, transpose your table. i.e. change the columns to rows and vice versa.
