@-sign in Excel 2000

Posted by Amar Khalifeh on October 18, 2000 11:39 AM
Excel 2000 automatically assumes that @-sign should only be a part of an email address. If it's entered anywhere in a spreadsheet, Excel converts the contents of the cell where the @-sign is entered into an email address. Is there any way to change the default setting to where it does not do that anymore? Doing this one cell at a time is not what I expect to do. MS Word allows such setting change. I can't find it in Excel.

I just tried it out if you put a space between anything around this @ sign you wont have that blue underline that functions as a mailto. other then that I can not find a switch to turn that option on or off. sorry
Christopher
