Remove External links from a spreadsheet

Hello,
I am attempting to remove all external links from a spreadsheet. I can see what external workbooks they are linked to but cannot find the cells that they are populating in my active sheet. I have used the find function but no formulas are found. There are no embedded objects either. Any ideas anyone please?!?

I was having a similar problem trying to clean up links that appeared in the Edit|Links dialog box, but could not be found using a search through all of the worksheets in the affected workbook. Give this a try, it worked for me. Somehow "Defined Names" had been created that referred to the errant links. To correct, go to Insert|Name|Define (Excel 2000) and look at the "Refers To:" associated with each "Defined Name" and delete the names that refer to the mystery files.
