importing ms works files into excel 2000

Posted by Steve on March 27, 2001 2:41 PM
I have some old MS Works speadsheet files that I need to open. When I try with excel 2000, I get incomprehensible (sp?) rubbish.
Any suggestions on how to get my data in a readable format??

Steve:

The only thing I can suggest is to open the files with MS Works and save them in an excel or lotus format.

I've also hear rumors of people being able to open corrupt Excel files with Star Office, might work here.(Star Office used to be a free download, don't know if that is still the case)

you can also try searching microsoft.com to see if they have a converter.

Good luck

Mark
