Converting word table to excel

We converted 280 pages of scanned pages into word.... now we need to convert the word tables into excel in order to make a retrieval program.... please help me I only have a month to do this... tnx...

Select the entire table (or tables, one by one), copy it, and then paste it into Excel. You may have to fiddle with column widths and row heights.
