excel as database

is it possible to open an excel table as a database access table. or copy the cells over with moving anything

You can link the excel file from within Access:

Under Tables, click new, Link, then follow the wizard

You can take the option under 'Data' menu in Excel to convert to MS Access. This will put a text box on your Excel file that can be easily deleted.
