upload for Access
Posted by Eric-Russell on July 24, 2001 11:00 AM
I have an extraction macro that opens exel files found in a directory, extracts data from them and closes them. I want to now write a macro that will open an existing access file named CEP2002, and import that data into an existing table named outlets.
Any suggestions??

Where is your data and what format is it in? And what do you mean by table? Do you mean an Access table or and Excel spreadsheet?

Thanks for such a quick response, The data from which I want to upload into an existing Access table is in an Excel spreadsheet in a table format. I could save this as a Comma Delimited Text file if it would be easier for uploading purposes.

Why don't you just link the Excel spreadsheet? It will then become just like a table in Access. In Access, go to File-Get External Data-Link Tables. Then just link the Excel spreadsheet.
Hope this helps,
Russell
