Linking Access to Excel, Date Format Problems
Posted by Jeff Carey on December 10, 2001 9:53 AM
Problem: When I link Access tables to an Excel workbook where I plan to maintain an Excel
workbook sheet I have problems with my date fields. The Excel date cell will be in the mm/dd/yy format but when
I use Access to link Excel to an Access Table I end up with #Num! in linked table field.
If I use Access Forms I can enter a date as mm/dd/yy and it will post the the Excel cell correctly and be correct in
all of the Access tables. Only problem is that I have over 1000 date fields to update/repost.
Any ideas????
Thanks Jeff Carey

I had a similar problem when importing date fields from an Access table to Excel. My easiest solution was to make sure the corresponding field on the Excel worksheet is formatted to the correct mm/dd/yy configuration after the date field is imported...
hope it helps...
