Extend range automatically for pivot table reference
Posted by Debbyy on April 02, 2001 3:23 PM
Entering data in a spreadsheet using a form. Trying to figure out how to have the data range automatically adjust as data is added so that the range used for the pivot table does not have to be updated everytime (refreshing data does not update the range).

Hi Debbyy
If you follow my link to my website, then click the "Dynamic Named Ranges" link you will see some examples that are probably exactly what you are after.

If your Pivot Tables are not within the same Workbook as your data you can use some code that I have on my "VBA Tips and Tricks" page. If you run into any problems just let me know.
BTW The "Dynamic Named Ranges" link should have read "Dynamic Ranges"

Hi
It is possible, when you select the range just to select the coloums of data to the pivottable. This way you will never have to adjust the range

Tommy
