Pivot Table Record Selection

Hello,

I'm using the dropdown box of a pivot table to select data from a database table in my excel workbook. When I update the database table and it contains new values in the field I'm using for record selection, the pivot table dropdown box enables these new categories and include them in my pivot table. Is there any way I can lock the selection criteria so I don't have to go through the dropdown list and remove check marks beside new categories?

Thanks
-Kevin

Why don't you create a grouped field for the items
of interest and use that as your Page field?

Thanks, this suggestion works perfectly.

I am assuming you dont want the new values. If it is only one value (or field criteria) you want, move the field to the Page level and select the value (the only options are "ALL" values or select on from the list) This will avoid "unchecking" a list of new values.
