converting pivot tables to spreadsheets

can someone remind me how to convert a pivot table to a spreadsheet so that i may manipulate the data as a spreadsheet??

Select the pivot table, copy, paste|special|values.
Is this what you need?

Not sure it's what you mean, but you could also double click on the total/total cell (usually bottom right)..... this will open up a new sheet that mirrors the original spreadheet data (in the unlikely occurance that it's been deleted and all you have to work with is the pivot itself
As with Barrie's paste special/values, you get values rather than any original formulae
