My problem is as follows: I wish to link a cell in workbook A to corresponding data in a pivot table. Both workbook and the pivot table are on the same server.

I first tried to use the insert function (hyperlink)and that seemed to work. The problem I have realized, is that while both the workbook and the pivot table are open the cell links correctly to the pivot table, while when the pivot table workbook is closed, the cell shows a false reference (#REF!) in workbook A. Could someone please explain to me how to correctly link to a pivot table?
