Save Pivot Table "Views"

I have a pivot table which is used by several different departments, al of whom want to get different summaries of data from it.

When the file is opened, the Pivot Table defaults to it's starting position - i.e. all the page fields are set to "All" and the table is set out in a specific way.

My users are now complaining that each time they open the file it's takign them "too long" to get the data in the format they require it.

Is it possible for a user to set the pivot table to the layout they want and then to save that "view" so they can select it from a list the next time they access the file?

I've tried setting up the table as required and then adding a Custom View from the View menu, but this doesn't work.

I know that I could get the spreadsheet to record the steps a user makes to get to the layout they require and then replay this macro at a later time, but some of the users have a tendency to do things that will "break" a spreadsheet, so I'd like to avoid the macro option if at all possible.

Any suggestions?

So why haven't you setup a dedicated PivotTable
for each department?

Not a feasible option...

Haven't set up one pivot per department because there are 4 divisions, 14 departments and at least 10 different pivot table layouts that each department wants.

Seperate pivot tables aren't really feasible!
