consolidation of data...help wanted

I have a huge series of data with item length in column a, weigth in column b, fastners quantity in colum c, selling price in column d and finally the item description in column e. I want to get a summary of the data i.e. length, weight, quantity of fastners used and selling price totals for a item description..any ideas? Any help will be much appreciated..thanks

roger,

Sounds like you should create a Pivot Table.

Select your entire data range, click on Data > Pivot Table Report and follow the instructions in the wizard. Read the help files on pivot tables to learn more about them.
