Is it posible to set excelto landscape format by default rather than portrait?

This is normally done from your printer software. You can go Start-Settings-Printers to make changes. You can also go from Excel: File-Print, and then select the Printer Properties button.

In help search for: "Control how Microsoft Excel starts"
You just need to format a blank spreadsheet to look like
the default you want. Then save it as a template in a
startup directory as indicated in help.
