freezing the Today() function in macro

Posted by vanessa on January 04, 2002 1:19 PM

I have the a macro in excel that copies down a form with a cell containing the =TODAY() formula so that it will date stamp the file's creation date displayed
as a MONTH. This is updated however everytime I re-open the worksheet created by my macro, showing the new month..makes sense..how do I freeze this formula when I run the macro or
date stamp the new file ?
Thanks!

There are a couple of ways of doing this, but you could copy over the date, and paste-special Values. This would erase the formula. You could work this into your closing macro.
