slow print macros

I use print macros extensively in my work. I had gotten a new printer a few months ago, but if I used the recomended driver the macros ran very slow. So I was using another driver which whipped through the macro in a flash. Then my boss noticed the some of the formating (underlining, #9's etc) looked wrong, so now I'm back to the recommended driver. However it literally would be faster to print each page seperately by hand. Are there any things to look for in my macros that could be causing this slow down? (I was able to find your site, type this and the macro is just now done printing 10 pages)

I don't really know much about printers etc, but I have had similar problems with Network printers. I have a macro that runs through and prints individual sheets one after the other. The printer will print say 6, then just stop for five minutes, then do a few more. The jobs are all just sitting there in the queue, and the printer is doing nothing. But if I highlight all the sheets and print as one print job, it spits them out in no time. I've concluded it is something to do with the print server, but of course our systems guys say it isn't. This is absolutely no help to you I'm guessing, but know you are not alone.
