Delete macro but still get macro virus warning msg

Why does macro virus warning appear when I open a worksheet that does not contain any macros? How can I suppress the message? (Macro was present at one time, but was "deleted" by using the options presented.)
This is the message I receive when I attempt to open the file:
The workbook you are opening contains macros. Some macros may contain harmful viruses. If you are sure this workbook is from a trusted source, click Yes. If you are not sure and want to prevent any macros from running, click No.

It could be still there. or at least the sub is there and it is setup to work on all workbooks. That or you already have a macro virus. I hope this helps you out.

You may still have the remnants of a previous
macro or worksheet macro.
Goto VBA editor Alt F11
Press Ctrl R to get to the project explorer.
In here look for any Modules, right click on it
and select Remove Module.
For the sheets....double click on them
and make sure they are empty, if not then remove all text by selecting and deleteing.

Thank-you so much. I've been struggling for hours to "purge" a macro out of my spreadsheet. I found your post and it worked perfectly.
