Ghost Macros

When I open the workbook of a project I'm working on, I get a warning alerting me that there are Macros installed, and do I want to open with or without them. The weird thing is that I never installed any macros. Initially I assumed that I inadvertantly did this and could go in, identify them, and remove. Guess what? There are none listed for any part of the workbook. But the message persists. I've never used macros,(knowingly) and am indeed puzzled by the message. I've opened the workbook both with and without the supposed macros, and the data appears unaffected, but I'm spooked that I'm overlooking something. Help explaining this phenomenom would be greatly appreciated.

Did you Check Personal.xls? (go to Window\Unhide)

If its a big problem and your data is easy copy, copt and paste to another WB, name the original SS "original_old" and the new SS original name, paste over into new WB and save, do not save changes to original now OLS WB just in case, close both and reopen the new WB and hit see if macros prompts, also hit CTRL+ALT+F9 all together this will FORCE Excel to caculate. Check to see if data have been lost or effected in transfer, you may need to copy over other SS from the WB, but keep going eventuall when all copied over and named correctly, so all the new WB looks like the OLD everything should be fine and work hitch free.
Save only in new WB and close and re open and the Macro prompt will disapear! OK you willnever know what happened, but its a last ditch get arround thats painless and works every time.
