excel macro to fill cell with information in above cell

Does anyone know a macro to fill an empty cell with the identical data in the cell above it?

You don't need a macro, just select the range of interest. Press F5, click "Special", select "Blanks", type
=
and press the Up arrow, and finally hit control enter.
If interested, you should copy and paste as values.
