Logging Date and Time

I have a field that is a list of hyperlinks to websites, is there a way that in the a particular column I can get a date/time stamp when I follow the hyperlink?

Re: Logging Date and Time

Hi Dream,

Yes. Just as an example, this code will put the Date-time stamp in column E of the same row in which a hyperlink is followed:

Private Sub Worksheet_FollowHyperlink(ByVal Target As Hyperlink)
Target.Parent.EntireRow.Cells(1, 5) = Now
End Sub

This is a worksheet event procedure, so must be placed in the worksheet's event code module. To do this, right-click on the worksheet's tab, select View Code, and paste this code into the Code pane.

Re: Logging Date and Time

thanks for the fast reply, does this not work in excel 97? I usually am in xp, but here at work, in 97, and when I click a hyperlink it closes the workbook, and when reopened no date.

Re: Logging Date and Time

NM, I found my problem, I was using the hyperlink formula, If I just use Insert/Hyperlink (Ctrl K) to put my hyperlinks in it works fine.
