Excel Facts

Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
in design mode double click the button and then in the Sub thet appears put:

call Macro1

or whatever your macro is called

Right click on the button and choose assign macro?

Alternatively, create a new button, and a wizard should start the assign macro dialog automatically

Tools->Customize, select Commands Tab and click on “Macros” in the list, then click “Custom Button”.

Drag the button to where you want it, then click “Modify Selection” and then “Assign Macro”.

Hi Ben,

If your macro still works when you go to Tools/Macro/Macros/Run (or press Alt-F8, Run) then the macro itself is OK.

For the button, delete whatever you made before and make a new one. Make sure the Forms Toolbar is on (right-click on any tools menu area, then select Forms if its not already selected). On the Forms tool bar, left click the button icon, then click the place on your sheet where you want it. A list of your macros will immediately appear. Click yours. You can right click the button to change the text in it, etc. Does that help?
