Thanks to the Madison Chapter of the IIA, Bill Jelen will be bringing his Power Excel Tips & Tricks and Advanced Data Analysis seminars to Madison, WI on Tuesday, February 10, 2009.

Morning Session:   8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. "Power Tips and Tricks for Microsoft Excel" with Bill Jelen
You use Excel 40 hours a week, but do you really know how to unleash the power of Excel? In this seminar, you will:

  • Learn cool secrets and tricks lurking on the Data menu.
  • Learn the ins and outs of Pivot Tables (from the guy who wrote the book on pivot tables!).
  • Create slick charts in a single button click.
  • Add thousands of subtotals in seconds.
  • Don't be tortured by bad data any longer! Learn how to take poorly formatted data and convert it to data suitable for pivot tables.
  • Learn some of the changes made in Excel 2007.
Participants in this session will receive a copy of Bill Jelens book Learn Excel 97-2007 from MrExcel which is comprised of 377 questions and solutions posed to him during his seminars. Jelen loves new questions! Bring your Excel question and Bill will incorporate it into the seminar. Jelen promises, "If you use Excel 40 hours per week, you will save 100 hours each year by attending this seminar!"

Afternoon Session:   1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. "Advanced Data Analysis with Microsoft Excel" with Bill Jelen
This session will go into more details about pivot tables. Learn how to take poorly formatted data and convert it to data suitable for pivot tables. Use VLOOKUP to match two lists. Understand how to use INDIRECT, MATCH, INDEX, and OFFSET for more efficient calculations. See how to use Pivot Tables for frequency distributions, true Top 10 reports, pareto analyses.
Participants of the afternoon session will receive a copy of Bill Jelen's books Guerilla Data Analysis Using Excel and Pivot Table Data Crunching.

IIA Members: $85 per session; $130 for full day seminar
Non-members: $100 per session; $150 for full day seminar

Continuing Professional Education: Sessions are tailored to meet the CPE guidelines of certification and/or licensing agencies as nearly as possible. CPE attendance forms will be available at the conference. Authority for granting CPE credits is reserved, however, solely to these licensing agencies.
Attendees will earn 4 credit(s) per session depending on length of program attended.
CPE/CPD are assigned according to Institute of Internal Auditors guidelines.
