Subscriptions Notifications of replies

Hallo
. 1 Can I subscribe to a thread (that is to say get notification of a new post there) without posting in the thread? (which seems to subscribe me automatically.)
. 2 What is the difference to having the Instant box in Settings >> Subscriptions (Notifications) ticked or not?

In regards to question #1, just go to the thread you want to subscribe to, click on the "Thread Tools" drop-down menu at the top of the thread, and select "Subscribe to this Thread". If you are already subscribed to the thread, it will give you an unsubscribe option.

There is an FAQ link at the top right that can be searched. Many answers can be found there, especially on how to use the forum.

1. You can subscribe without replying by selecting "Subscribe to Thread" from the Thread Tools drop-down at the top of the thread
2. If you have your settings to NOT be notified (by email) by default, you can use that dialog to pick specific threads to be notified about.
