Is postimg.org a reliable and safe site to use for IMGs?

Is there a more-reliable and safer site to use?

I was never able to include IMGs in my postings because the free file-sharing websites that I use do not provide public/share URLs that end in ".jpg", ".png", etc.

I discovered postimg.org works for me. But I have some doubts about using that website.

One "free" file-sharing website informed me that I could get such URLs if I signed up for a "premium" account. Read: $$s, not free.

Yet many other contributors here seem to have no problem postings IMGs.

Do y'all have "premium" accounts?! Or am I just missing something?

I'm not sure about image sites, but you know you can post screen shots with the HTML Maker (see my sig)?

I don't understand how that addresses my needs.

First, isn't HTML Maker limited to screen shots of Excel worksheets? My needs are not limited to that.

Second, even if I use HTML Maker, how does that side-step the need to upload an image file to a file-sharing website to be reference by an IMG tag? What does HTML Maker do differently?

Hi joeu2004,
. I may have been in a similar situation to you couple of weeks ago , looking for a free way to put an image into the MrExcel Post to show someone something as I saw it which was not something I could show with the MrExcel Forum Tools (Which I think we all agree should be the first choice****).
http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/about-board/830361-board-wish-list-3.html?

.

. I can now take or create any .jpg File, drag it in to a free file-sharing website, and I then I get offered various share options.
.One is a HTML link…
. If I choose, for example, that HTML link, and paste that HTML link in the MrExcel editor I get in the editor this

<a href="http://s1065.photobucket.com/user/DocAElstein/media/MrExcel_zpsopdbmyxi.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u400/DocAElstein/MrExcel_zpsopdbmyxi.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo MrExcel_zpsopdbmyxi.jpg"/></a>

. Because HTML code is turned off in this Sub Forum you see here the actual Link. However if you paste that link in most of the other MrExcel Sub Forums you get a nice screen shot in place of that link. I just tried in the test area...."Test for joeu2004" . It seemed to work.

. As we all prefer to encourage People to use the MrExcel HTML Maker when appropriate, I will not give the exact details or name of the free file-sharing website I use here, to avoid encouraging anyone to use an image rather than the MrExcel HTML Maker. If you are interested, then PM me and I will give the details there

Alan
