I had hoped to post the code for a spreadsheet but was told that I may not upload fileds.

What hoops do I have to jump through in order to be able to upload files?

Thanks,

Tony

Well, I did a search on attachments, and got 148 suggestions. I've just done it again, and the most relevant one was my own question.

So, at the risk of sounding Real Dumb, where would you suggest I look i n order to see "Attachments"? Or possibly, you could actually supply an answer t=rather than a pointer? Just in case a similarly challenged person has a similarly simple question in the future.

My specific question is what do I have to do to be 'allowed' to upload an attachment. It's all very well earning that I can't, but it doesn't really help...

Thanks,

Tony

did you actually click on the link Joe provided? We don't allow attachments, but the link provides information the methods we do have to show your sheet.

My bad!

It didn't look like an attachment, so I spent time looking around for other things that might more realistically have been a link.
However, you provided exactly what I was looking for, thanks.

And apologies to Joe for sounding snarky.

Hi Tony,
In this sub Forum “About This Board” the Attachment theme does come up a lot. A Tip for searching this sub Forum: As this sub forum does not move too fast a simple manual scroll down the list hits tyoically what you are looking for quite quick. For example to the Theme Attachments: , just a few I just found at first glance:

http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/about-board/843427-attaching-files-new-thread-post.html
http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/about-board/838717-posting-files-review.html
http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/about-board/830361-board-wish-list.html
http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/about-...-attachments-forum-while-posting-queries.html
… The bottom line is that a nice characteristic of this MrExcel is the encouragement to keep as much visible in the Thread for everyone’s benefits. Occasionally it can help in addition to upload a file, but only occasionally as preferably only in addition to using the available Forum screen shot tools which are many and always improving.
. If you have time a quick read of these links will be worthwhile and if you occasionally do need to upload a file, some methods are discussed there.

We also tend to make important posts "Stickys" so they always stay at the top. For example, if you look at the "About This Board" forum, the "Attachments" Sticky I referenced is directly above this thread (since this is currently the most recent thread in this forum).

Thanks, Joe4 and DocA

A large part of my confusion was living in 'another forum' which does allow uploads. Also, the question I was asking was pretty complicated - involving several procedures, and enabling and disabling event processing.

I eventually found the solution to my problem by tracing every single procedure invocation and then flipping backward and forward through the code to discover that a missing event was actually uncorrected procedure invocation. The most important module I ever import is my standard traced module!

Thanks again for your patience and forbearance with a lost lamb!
