Excel converts Gregorian dates to Hijri dates by using the date format "B2dd/mmm/yyyy". How to convert Hijri date to Gregorian date?"

Hi Gohar, please explain how Excel converts dates this way? I understood that Hijri dates were a Windows setting.

In excel 2003 format a cell with B2dd/mmm/yyyy, you will get your date in the cell converted to hijri date.

Hi again Gohar, thanks, I also found the MS article about the number format you've shown. That shows a Gregorian date as Hijri, so to convert back you'd just change the number format. According to the article:

you can enter a Hijri date in a cell like this:
To enter Hijri date, type A or a in front of the date entry
For example, you can enter the short date 'a9/25/20', which will be interpreted as Hijri date 9/25/1420
which of course can be formatted as Gregorian if you want to see what the Gregorian date is.
